Stoller Family Estate Dundee Hills Pinot Noir
Bill Stoller purchased the family farm in 1993 with the vision of cultivating an enduring legacy for the Oregon land and wines. Over the last 25 years, he has patiently transformed the property into the largest contiguous vineyard in the Dundee Hills AVA. Stoller Family Estate winery has now grown into a 400-acre parcel on the southern slopes of the Dundee Hills, located in the northern Willamette Valley.
Bill's first vintage was 2001, and Melissa Burr joined the winery as the principal winemaker in 2003. Since then, Bill and Melissa have been producing exceptionally balanced and terroir-driven wines while keeping the soil and the vineyard healthy and vibrant. The soil is predominantly Jory, a fertile, red volcanic basalt soil that has come to define the Dundee Hills. The vineyard is protected from the cold winds coming in from the Pacific Ocean by the Coast Range to the east and the Chehalem Mountains in the north. The 2017 vintage is an ideal representation of Dundee Hills Pinot Noir with notes of red cherry, raspberry, cola, and that unmistakable mossy forest floor. With the summer mostly behind us, this is just about the perfect wine to make the transition into the fall a bit more enjoyable.
